Hell’s Kitchen contestant Paulie Giganti was found dead in his Philadelphia home on Thursday morning. Police told TMZ they were called to his home because of reports of a foul odor. Upon arrival, they found Giganti on the bedroom floor, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A medical examiner’s office spokesman, reported that Giganti died of an accidental overdose, urine samples revealed, though the exact drugs taken is unknown. Toxicology reports will tell whether Paul’s overdose was from prescribed or recreational drugs use. Radar Online reported that the time of death was 8:55 AM, Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Giganti competed on Season 16 of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen, and was one of the most disagreeable contestants on the show that season. His former boss, owner of the Philadelphia restaurant, Birra, said Paul had worked for him at the time his season aired. He loved the attention the restaurant received from his appearance on Hell’s Kitchen. Previously reported that Giganti worked at Birra; but owner, Gordon Dinerman says that he’d left the restaurant in November.
