The incredibly popular show, NBC’s “This Is Us” concluded the premiere season in March and fans are anxiously awaiting Season 2. Viewers of the show are anxious to learn what happens with the show’s patriarch Jack. Fans want to know how and when does Jack Pearson die?

Mandy Moore, who plays Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) wife Rebecca on the show, opened up a bit to Larry King in a new interview. Though she could not give much information, Moore did confirm that the main cast already knows both answers about Jack’s death. “We all had to know,” Moore, 33, tells King in the interview. “If you think about it, all of the core actors sort of had to know because we see him later, but something that fundamentally earth-shattering and life-changing that happened to the kids at some point in their lives is something they’re going to carry with them as adults.”

Based on information we’re given in the first season, we know that Jack’s death is expected to happen soon, due to the age of the children on the show. “You’ve seen the kids now [in the show], they’re about 16 or 17 when [Jack] passed away,” Moore stated. The children in the show are played by costars Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown and Justin Hartley.

Moore revealed that Jack’s death will be in the Season 2 premiere, which returns this fall. “One thing I can tell you, you will learn how Jack died in the first episode of season 2,” says King. “That’s what we’ve been told,” says Moore.

Like many others, I can’t wait for the show to return so I can get answers to this burning question of what happens to Jack!

You can watch Moore’s full interview with King on Ora TV and Hulu.
