Tamar Braxton, R&B recording artist and star of We TV’s Braxton Family Values took to Instagram to announce the release of her latest album, ‘Bluebird of Happiness’. She also used the medium to announce that this is her best and her last album.
In 1990, Braxton and her sisters formed the group The Braxtons and released their first album, So Many Ways in 1996. Tamar released her first solo album, in 2000, on the DreamWorks Records label. She was dropped within the year when her self-titled debut release failed to climb any of the charts.
In 2011, Tamar and her sisters, Toni, Traci, Trina, and Towanda signed on with We TV to do a reality series about their day-to-day lives. The show was an immediate success, quickly becoming the #1 show on the cable network. Filming the series, Tamar and performing with her sisters, Tamar got the itch to once again try and launch her musical career. This time around, she released her album, Love and War and she became a hot property.
Her renewed success helped her to launch a new, hip female talk show, The Real with co-hosts Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon, and Jeannie Mai. She also starred in another We TV reality series featuring her and her husband, Vince Herbert, titled ‘Tamar and Vince’. The couple have one son.
Tamar hasn’t announced any future plans. But, at only 40 years old, she still has a lot of years, and talent left to pursue another music career…or maybe she’ll take up acting. Not to mention, she has signed an development deal with Steve Harvey’s East 112th Street Productions.
Look for ‘Bluebird of Happiness’ release September 29.
