Shannen Doherty Fighting the Good Fight

It is the saddest thing ever to discover that you have cancer. It must be a living nightmare. It’s one of the most frightening diseases to have to battle. Many have survived it, but far too many have lost the battle with the scourge of cancer.

Shannen Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2015. Her journey has been anything, but smooth. She’s opening up a very private part of her life to fans during this horrible ordeal. She wants to help others who may be going through the same thing to cope and not give up the fight.

The chemo and radiation are zapping the life out of this beautiful young woman. She’s lost weight and all her beautiful hair is gone. She looks defeated, but her will to get better and survive this monster is stronger.

She had a single mastectomy done when they first diagnosed her with breast cancer. Unfortunately, some of the cancer cells invaded her lymph nodes. Her oncologist told her the cancer is spreading and she has to endure another round of chemo and radiation treatments. Hopefully, that will keep the cancer from spreading further.

Her husband and family have been there for her and that’s what keeps her going. The love of family.

It’s sad that after all these many decades we still have no sensible cure for cancer. It’s a sad dilemma to watch yourself wither away with this brutal disease and deal with the anxiety about whether you’ll live or die in the middle of your treatments.

Shannon – “Cancer has in a strange way done some amazing things for me. It’s allowed me to be more me, like much more in touch with who I am, and much more vulnerable and the person that I always was, but I think it got hidden behind a lot of other stuff.” Doherty stated about her battle.
“Everything else is manageable. Pain is manageable, you know living without a breast is manageable, it’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love.” She told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview.

“The unknown is always the scariest part,” she shared with ET Online. “Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work? You know, am I going to have to go through this again, or am I going to get secondary cancer?” She says during her interview. She also states that the news of her cancer now spreading is “terribly frightening, and makes me afraid to go to sleep at night.”

She is losing weight, vomiting, and can hardly get out of bed some days. He husband has to help her get to the bathroom and to her appointments. Feeling helpless like that is what makes one so depressed.

Shannen Doherty is best known for her role in Beverly HIlls 90210. I wish her a full recovery and peace of mind through this truly, tough journey in her life. God bless her and her family.

From my heart to yours Shannen Doherty

I Will Not Abandon You

My child, I have heard your prayers and it breaks my heart to know that you are hurting so. Don’t you know that I love you and want to shelter you beneath my wings? Just reach out and touch Me. I will not abandon you. Be still for I am just a breath away…

Turn your face up to the sky and look up at the stars. See how far away they are? Yet, they are there for you to see. So look up and you will see Me. And when the wind moves, you will hear My voice…

My child, take My hand and let me comfort you. Know that I will never let you go. Have faith, for I will always be with you…

Through all your trials and tribulations I have heard you cry and I have cried with you. I have counted all your precious tears…

Know that nothing in this world can separate you from my love. Nothing can harm you in the shelter of my arms. Just trust Me and love Me and know that I will not abandon you. That is all I ask of you…
