‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star, Vicki Gunvalson was not a happy camper when her daughter and son-in-law Briana and Ryan Culbertson packed up their belongings to move to Oklahoma. Ryan, who was serving in the Marine Corps had just been stationed there and Briana and their two sons were moving to join him, much to Vicki’s chagrin.
Never one to let anyone, even her daughter, make a decision that didn’t doesn’t concern her, Vicki had nothing nice to say about the great state of Oklahoma.
But the ladies of Bravo’s newest reality series, ‘Sweet Home Oklahoma’ are understanding and forgiving of Vicki’s comments. Lee Murphy, answering a caller’s question while tending bar on ‘WWHL’ Sunday night, said,” She had never been [to Oklahoma]. She was losing her daughter. Her daughter was moving. It was very emotional.”
Two other members of the cast, also behind the bar, Angie “Pumps” Sullivan and Jennifer Welch, are split on Gunvalson’s comments.
Sullivan said that she “was wrong” when she insulted Oklahoma; Jennifer said that, now that she’s been in front of the cameras on a daily basis, she can’t be mad at Vicki, “We would never criticize what anybody says when the cameras are following them because we just did that”. She explained that even her castmates have said some terrible things that they’ve had to get over. “So, Vicki, no worries.”
With Briana moving back to Orange County last season, it’s highly unlikely that Vicki will ever step foot in the Sooner State again.
