The Kardashian-Wests want another baby. Kim’s said as much throughout the latest season of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, “I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family …,” she has said. But Kim’s doctors warned her that pregnancy is not a good idea for her or her baby. Kim suffers from Placenta Accreta.
Placenta Accreta is when the placenta attaches too deep in the uterine wall but it does not penetrate the uterine muscle. The exact cause of is unknown, but it can be related previous cesarean deliveries. The risks associated with this condition include bleeding during 3rd trimester, premature delivery and birth complications are the primary concerns for the baby.
Kim did reportedly deliver 18-month old Saint naturally; but daughter North, 4, was delivered by C-section. She is said to have undergone a procedure that could have helped her to carry a baby to term. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. So, the couple was back to how to add to their family and how to save Kim and the new baby from birthing trauma? Although Kim’s good friend, Chrissy Teigen and sister, Khloe have volunteered to carry the Kardashian-West addition, the couple went and hired themselves a surrogate.
So what’s the going rate for surrogacy these days? The Kardashian-Wests are said to be paying a total of $113,000. They have hired the surrogate for $45,000, to be paid out monthly over 10 months and they’re paying the agency who made the arrangements $68,000. That’s all?! Supposedly any more would constitute buying a baby and that’s illegal.
While not actually trying to keep up with Bey and Jay-Z, there’s a bonus in it for the surrogate if there’s a multiple birth.
