As soulmates go, no matter what happens to tear them apart, eventually true love finds its way home. At least such is the case with Nashville legacy Miley Cyrus and her long term break up -to-make up beaux Liam Hemsworth. As of late, Cyrus has had much to say about their 2013 split. Cyrus confesses; back then she and the Aussie actor were simply too immature to maintain a relationship of their magnitude. However, growing up a bit has changed them both.
The celebrity couple first met circa 2010 on the set of the movie “The Last Song”. At the time, Hemsworth was soon to be 21-years-old and Miley hadn’t turned 18 yet. They hit it off fast and furious, so much so the couple found themselves engaged two years later. Shortly after things began to spin out of control, landing the duo into an indefinite break period.
During that time, Miley Cyrus coincidentally became insistent on shedding her Hannah Montana image via the art of twerking. She found herself the center of whirlwind media focus chasing the star’s every antic. Also Cyrus’s music morphed overnight, signaling some sort of quirky-girl gone raunchy message. Subsequently, the child star began to lose both class and credibility according to the general public. However, her following soared.
An end to the madness came unexpectedly. In 2015, Cyrus and Hemsworth were back at it again. Suddenly, Cyrus disappeared from the spotlight until this year when she resurfaced with a new single, “Malibu”. Cyrus credits the song’s lyrics to her deep affection for Hemsworth.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s Hits 1, the actor-singer opened up about the journey the couple has taken to get to the point they are at now.
“People that break up and get back together — I think that’s awesome because you know it’s true, but also you get time to be yourself, you get time to grow up,” Cyrus convinces. “If you’re growing up attached to another person, you never really get solid as your own being. So I’m really solid and he gets to be really solid and together, we get to be two really grounded people — it’s not a half and a half making a whole.”
In the official video for “Malibu”, she wears the gold banded solitaire Hemsworth gave her to mark their 2012 engagement. “Malibu” promotes a theme of tranquility and purity that was missing from Cyrus’s image after break up and pre-reconciliation. Likewise, Cyrus has totally cleaned up her act, including abstaining from recreational drug use. Looks like these two have found what works for them and have no trouble running with love’s success.
May #teamMiliam continue to beat the odds while enjoying the love that they can only find in one another.
