Based on an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, McCullough worked her way to a scientist position at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Now she is the ultimate winner with a message for the world.

McCullough revealed her views on this topic and feminism during one of the question and answer segments that defines the long standing pageant.

The internet was not happy with the beauty queen’s response. From the halls of Facebook to the dense shores of Twitter, this former military kid was accused of being small minded, uneducated and down right ugly inside. “What is wrong with feminism,” was a question added to the flames sent to burn her. This was a retort to challenge McCollough regarding her decision to re-brand the f – word as equalism. McCullough cares about men. Simultaneously, he thinks women should have opportunities too.

That was Sunday. Today the newly crowned spokesperson interviewed with ‘Good Morning America’ host Michael Strahan. There Kára McCullough, explained her words were misinterpreted. Her focus is on job opportunity (there’s that word again). She believes in order for healthcare to be affordable, Americans need to work. She also reiterates her desire for women to have career opportunities and leadership in all fields. Makes sense considering her platform is geared towards sparking STEM interest in children through her “Science Exploration for Kids” outreach program.
