Kim Zolciak-Biermann was quick to jump to husband Kroy’s defense when Kenya Moore attacked his employment status at Sheree’s housewarming party. Kim got a couple of zingers in herself about Kenya’s man, or lack thereof, and her baby-making status. Now she’s opening up and talking her husband’s career and his future as she sees it.
Kim told The Daily Dish, that although she loves having her man at home, football is in his blood and just what he is about. Kroy Biermann played linebacker with the Atlanta Falcons for 8 years. In 2015, according to sportscaster.com, the Falcons paid Biermann $1.1M, plus a $500,000 signing bonus and additional $325,000 bonus just for being on the roster. That’s a whopping $1,925,000 just for one year, add to that an additional $20,312 for every game he actually took the field. Not too shabby!
Unfortunately, the Falcons cut Kroy from their 2016 roster. He then landed in Buffalo for an LB position with the Bills, but at a significant cut. But before the regular season could begin, Kroy was again cut and he immediately went to free agent status. After the Bills, no team picked him up and Kroy wound up sitting out the entire 2016-2017 season. Add to that the insult of watching his former teammates on the Falcons go to the Super Bowl. Even though he cheered them on, you just know he was disappointed to miss that opportunity…and bonus.
With the 2017-2018 seasons approaching, Biermann may be looking to head to try-outs if any teams express an interest. Kim thinks her husband would be great as an announcer or even as a coach! But those feelers should have already been out there.
Sidebar: Tony Romo, former quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys, had already landed his gig CBS Sports as an announcer before he announced his retirement earlier this month.
Kroy has remained busy helping Kim with her many businesses, including Kashmere, her shoe and swimsuit line. This is in addition to being the stay-at-home dad to the couple’s six children. Kim says he’s much better at it than she is. “Definitely the kids listen to him better than they listen to me. I definitely enjoy him being home for sure. When he’s not home, the kids are like, ‘Hahaha, Mommy!’ I’m definitely not the disciplinarian.”
It seems like Kim has been keeping him busy, may be too busy for actual training and conditioning to play football. Maybe he better start sending out those resumes.
