Abby Lee Miller announced on Monday that she is leaving Dance Moms. Miller said in an Instagram post that she was quitting the show because she “ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD-WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES, AND COSTUMING.” ET Online is now reporting a replacement has been found. And not just any replacement, but quiet an experienced one. Dancing with The Stars pro Cheryl Burke will be joining the show for the remainder of the season according to ET.

Dance Moms, which has been picked up for four more episodes this season, will resume filming on Wednesday. Accourding to ET the show had to bring on celebrity choreographer Laurieann Gibson to teach the girls in place of Miller.
Meanwhile, Abby Lee Miller is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to bankruptcy fraud last June. She has the potential of facing up to 10 years in prison. Her sentencing hearing was originally scheduled for Feb. 24, but was subsequently delayed. No future date has been given.
In case you didn’t know Abby Lee Miller was born September 21, 1965. She is an American dance instructor, choreographer, and the director and owner of Reign Dance Productions. She is also the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company and appears on the reality television series Dance Moms. Miller began to appear in the 2011 Lifetime reality television show Dance Moms. In December 2010, Miller filed for bankruptcy and owed more than $400,000 in taxes.
Miller began to encounter numerous legal issues in 2014. One of the dancers on Dance Moms sued Miller, charging assault. The suit further claims the show’s producers encourage a violent and combative atmosphere on the show as a way to attract viewers. A five million dollar lawsuit was filed against Collins Avenue Entertainment for staging disagreements that ended in a fight between Kelly Hyland and Miller. Paige Hyland also filed an emotional distress lawsuit against Miller. The charges were dropped on the emotional distress lawsuit, because the judge sided with Miller, as Miller had done nothing emotionally damaging to the child beyond what is normal of high quality dance instructors.
On October 13, 2015, Miller was indicted for fraud for creating a secret bank account in 2012-2013 used to hide income from masterclasses, TV deals, and merchandise sales. In 2015, Miller opened a new studio set up in Los Angeles called ALDC LA. The cast of Dance Moms moved to LA. On March 27, 2017, Miller quit the show in an Instagram rant.
Burke has done numerous promotions outside of Dancing with the Stars which include Depend Silhouette briefs, Impress Nails and Sargento Cheese. Her partnership with these companies has raised a lot of money including 50 thousand dollars that Depend is donating to Dress for Success. She opened her first dance studio in April 2008 and created her own line of activewear the next year.
We wish her Success on Dance Moms, and hope she has a kinder gentler tone and relations ship with the girls, and their moms!
