Jessica Graf is the 6th evictee from the Big Brother 19 house and she answered a few questions for Chuck Boudreau.
Chuck: Jessica, it is no secret that you and Cody have had huge targets on your backs for many weeks in the Big Brother house. What do you think caused the knives to be directed at you? Who is the mastermind?
Jessica: So when Cody initially showed his cards and targeted Paul and Christmas, it put a lot of fear into them, and they’re both really great game players. So even though people do make mistakes and can be forgiven, Christmas and Paul did not want to forgive Cody and did not want people to forget his actions. And in doing that, they ensured keeping the target on his back, would ensure that people would continue to target him. I think they unified an army against their personal cause and because the whole house could get behind one singular target, it was an easy sell. So I think it was smart for Paul and Christmas to keep reiterating what he did.
Chuck: The taunting and possible bullying directed at you and Cody in the past 2 weeks was intense and I am sure, very frustrating. Josh appeared to be the most active in the behaviours directed at the two of you. Was he leading that charge or who else was orchestrating it?
Jessica: I don’t know who Josh is listening to behind the scenes, I honestly don’t. I can assume that Paul and probably some other people. It’s crazy to me that the most sensitive person in the house is the most vocal, bullying, especially because he would say things how he’s worried how his family is perceiving him, but then he would go ahead and scream and yell in people’s faces and pots and pans. It’s all very very obnoxious. Even if he his being a puppet in this situation, he’s the one that’s going to have to answer to his own behavior.
Chuck: You and Cody quickly became a showmance in the BB19 house. What is it about him that has drawn you to him, even overlooking some of the poor decisions he has made in the game? Is there a Jessica/Cody outside of the house?
Jessica: The thing that I love most about Cody is that not everyone gets to see the real him. He puts on a really strong exterior but for the people that he loves and trusts, he loves to joke around, he’s really warm. The way that he takes care of me is so gentle and kind. He believes in loyalty and respect. If you don’t give that, then he doesn’t have any interest in developing a relationship with you. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. When someone believes in honesty, loyalty, and respect, and then is thrown into a situation where backstabbing, lying and cheating is encouraged, he’s obviously not going to cope well. I think the beauty of Cody’s game, he challenges people to play a more honest respectable game, and people didn’t want to play that. So unfortunately he was in the minority of that mindset. But there will definitely be a Jessica and Cody outside of the house, he’s an amazing human being and I’m very happy that we are together.
Chuck: The couples in the house usually become targets for eviction. Is there a duo that seems to be flying under the radar, and why do you think they are being allowed to do that? Will they make it much further in the game?
Jessica: Matt and Raven are definitely flying under the radar. They’re definitely people who acknowledge that, and I don’t think their behavior will continue for much longer. I think that they’ve been playing the game from the shadows. All they do is cook and clean, and scream and yell, and annoy people. Then they point fingers behind closed doors to who should be the target and talk crap about them. So I look forward to that showmance being broken up. They haven’t done anything in this game. So I hope they’re eliminated sooner rather than later.
Chuck: Normally, houseguests from each season become somewhat of a family unit, but for some reason, I don’t see you and Cody being part of the happy BB family from this season. Are there any long lasting friendships that you expect to develop outside of the house?
Jessica: Absolutely – Mark and Elena are amazing people, I love them to pieces, I will 100% be very close to them outside of the house. Kevin as well – it’s hard not to love Kevin, he’s really cool. I genuinely actually do like Paul. Just as a game player I want to see him eliminated because he’s doing so well. But as a viewer I would probably be rooting for Paul the whole season. I think Paul and I will still be friends. I think that once tensions die down, you’ll see people react differently. Even Matt, I think Matt is cool as hell.
