“Big Bang Theory” Senior Cast Mates Take Pay Cut for Co-Stars

Reportedly, senior cast mates of the “Big Bang Theory” Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar have taken pay cuts so that their costars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch could negotiate their contracts for higher pay.

The original ensemble cast of the Big Bang Theory earn approximately $1 million per episode and are giving up $100,00 less per episode so that Mayim and Melissa can hopefully negotiate a $450,000 per episode rate from their current $200,000 rate.

The comedy is in its tenth season and is more popular than ever and is the number one prime time comedy. CBS chief Glenn Gellar recently stated that “We’ll put it on for as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air,” and “I hope it lasts forever.” Just in case it doesn’t last forever, there are early talks in the works for a spinoff of the Jim Parson’s character Sheldon Cooper.
