The grand prize of $250,000 and the title of winners of The Amazing Race-Season 4 went to couple dating couple Steph Leclair and Kristen McKenzie. They are the first all female team to win TAR-C.
Steph and Kristen contend that the game was somewhat hard. Some of the teams took the game a little more seriously than the ladies did, who in part played a very social game. So social that they invited race mates, Anthony Limbombe and Brandon Campeau and mother-daughter team, Frankie and Amy Gassler over to watch the finale. An example of the race deceptions include, not inviting the 3rd place team, Joel Ground and Ashley Callingbull over to view the episode because Frankie and Amy were still a little ticked off that Callingbull lied about the rules of one of the challenges.

But Leclair and McKenzie lied to about whether they did or did not (which they did) have the Express Pass.
Leclair says that even though the teams got along well during the race, it’s hard to remain on friendly terms because of some of the deceptions. But they all understand that that is how you play the game, some were just better than others.

Another source of despair for the girls was the fallout from fans for U-turning Joel and Ashley, part of a double U-turn in Cape Breton instead of their closest competition, Big Brother alums Jillian MacLaughlin and Emmett Blois. MacLaughlin and Blois also used that U-turn, causing twins Rita and Yvette Yakibonge to be eliminated. The problem was why didn’t they U-turn their closest competition instead of friends? But Kristen says they had no “no U-turn” deal set up” and that they were competition.
Whatever the reason and strategy it got them into the final leg of the race that started with the teams learning Cirque du Soleil stunts. Kristen had to do the stunt, which involved an upward-bungee to a trapeze because Steph had hurt her hand cutting sugar cane in Cuba.. The last two contests had the teams on a bagel delivery challenge and then a test of their memories on phrases heard throughout the season. Then it was an all out foot race with LeClair and Mackenzie literally sliding into show host, Jon Montgomery.

But it all paid off with the girls using the money to help pay off Leclair’s law school loans. And the couple taking advantage of the many trip gifts they won through Travelocity.
